NAEA Seminar for Research in Art Education

Art educators are positioned to change classroom practice and education policy through translating research into practice in art education classrooms. The NAEA Seminar for Research in Art Education special interest group (SIG) is offering masters-level graduate students and recent graduates an opportunity to promote a spirited inquiry and research dialogue that will contribute to expanding the knowledge base of art education research. We invite Master-level graduates or alumni to participate in a panel discussion to share your research studies (completed or in progress) as part of engaging new and exciting scholarship of practice. This important forum provides the opportunity to engage in exchange of ideas beyond your own university, sharing your research with your national peers, and contributing to the national art education discussion.

We encourage art teacher/researchers to share their reflexive practice. Research may focus on individual, community, or societal topics and issues and should be responsive to current theoretical perspectives and ecological conditions driving change in visual arts learning and teaching practices.
