Visiting Artist Oliver Herring

Art education majors in The Principles of Teaching Art  spent the day with contemporary artist Oliver Herring and middle and high school students from Oak Hall School in Gainesville, Fl. Art education majors assisted students and collaboratively made photographic collages from their portrait photos. A selection of portraits, rescaled to the proportions of an adult human body were taken and printed. These prints became material for a series of photo sessions to take photographs, generating new images. Oliver Herring’s visit was organized by the School of Art and Art History and funded by the Art Education Visiting Scholars Fund.
